  • A variety of local and national NAWBO meetings and events offer plenty of opportunities to meet new people, exchange ideas and make contacts.
  • Members have access to the international marketplace through NAWBO's affiliation with Les Femmes Chefs d'Entreprises Mondiales (FCEM), World Association of Women Entrepreneurs.
2. Visibility
  • NAWBO aggressively looks for public relations opportunities to promote the organization, as well as individual members, to the business community through local and national media.
  • There are many ways to advertise your company cost-effectively in our National Membership Directory, the chapter roster and newsletter, Enterprising Women Magazine, at chapter events and other media.

  • NAWBO is working to increase procurement opportunities for women business enterprises (WBEs) through the Women Business Owners Corporation.

  • The National Foundation for Women Business Owners, our own research foundation, has consistently provided data which makes financial institutions, corporations and policymakers aware of the economic force of women business owners.
  • The Annual Economic Summit & Business Expo gathers the nation's top women business owners to discuss trends and economic development issues.
6. Communications
  • NAWBOtime, our National Association newsletter, keeps members informed on local and national changes, benefits, events and other actions.
  • Chapter publications and mailings communicate upcoming events and activities.
  • Enterprising Women Magazine provides cutting edge information for growth and profit oriented women business owners.
7. Fellowship
  • Through participation in NAWBO events and programs, and involvement on committees, you'll develop many lasting friendships, as well as business relationships.
8. Education
  • The National Speaker's Bureau provides expert NAWBO and NFWBO speakers for chapter events.
  • Fine tune your leadership skills at various workshops at the National NAWBO Annual Meeting, chapter programs, and the Economic Summit.
  • The Gillian Rudd Institute, a 3-day retreat for established women business owners, offers quality leadership training and leading edge management philosophies.
9. Mentoring
  • The Board of Advisors, successful women business owners who donate their time and expertise to help others become more successful, will meet with a new member to discuss a specific business concern she may have.
  • The Angel Network links successful women business owners who want to mentor and invest with NAWBO members needing capital and advice.
  • NAWBO's alliance with "An Income of Her Own", an educational program for teenage women, provides the entrepreneurial model and economic literacy for the next generation.
10. Recognition
  • The Awards & Appointments Committee promotes NAWBO members by nominating qualified candidates and/or helping them apply for specific national and local awards, scholarships and board appointments.
  • NAWBO also recognizes leading women business owners at local, state and national events, such as the Teal Heart Award and the VISTA Award.
