FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. March 7, 2011 – It’s time to celebrate our nominees for the Annual BRAVO Awards at the National Association of Women Business Owners Fort Lauderdale/Broward County (NAWBO) chapter meeting on March 5, 2012 at the Westin Hotel – Cypress Creek, located at 400 Corporate Drive, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. The BRAVO Award recipients, who will not be announced until that evening, will be honored in during a gala dinner ceremony.

This prestigious award recognizes amazing women in the community that are pioneers, who are leaders, and who radiate the success factor both personally and professionally. The goal for the BRAVO Awards is to discover five outstanding women business owners inSouth Floridathat have contributed to one of these key business areas:

The Young Woman Entrepreneur Nominee: She is a trailblazer and entrepreneur age 13 – 25 and ahead of her time. She possesses a keen sense for business and has successfully turned her ideas into a for-profit or non-profit venture.

Media Nominee: She has a knack for investigating and reporting the facts, stories and ideas of interest to others. She is articulate and an excellent communicator. She’s a mass media diva with experience in TV, Radio, Print and Online who champions women’s business causes and encourages other women to enter the field.

Diversity Nominee: She is a business owner or woman in business of a diverse cultural and ethnic background. She has embraced the differences of her community and others to make her business a success.

Spirit of the Community Nominee: She may be a civic leader, elected official, social service or non-profit community leader. She works tirelessly on behalf of others who are disenfranchised, under-served and un-heard. She has helped to make you more aware of the issues and areas of need in the community or the world.

Making Green by Going Green Nominee: She avidly recycles, and incorporates daily business practices based on creating a positive environmental impact. She makes a profit developing and/or implementing green programs that reduce dependency on others for fuel, power, water, and food while reducing harmful living and business environments.

Membership is the lifeline to any organization. On February 5, 2012 we will be holding our Annual Member Fest at the Westin Hotel in Fort Lauderdale. This event gives potential women business owners the opportunity to find out firsthand what our organization is about.
