How to Get Involved
If you’re looking for a way to maximize your NAWBO membership, then it is time to get involved. Join a committee, work on a project or become a board chair. We have a plethora of opportunities for you to take your membership to the next level.
Below is a description of the various committees that we have. Starred (*) positions are board chair positions and must attend monthly board meetings. Board chair positions start each year in June. Committee members can join at any time and are not required to attend board meetings.
Membership
The Membership committee is responsible for membership recruitment and retention. This includes following up with guests and members. Positions include:

Programming
The Programming committee brings in influential business women and, politicians, community leaders, and experts to speak during the chapter’s dinner meetings about topics relevant to the NAWBO woman business owner. NAWBO Programming is committed to selectively bringing speakers that touch upon the NAWBO Woman’s business, politics, health, and personal fulfillment. The speakers engage members and guests with their experiences, advice, and action plans. The programming committee also has coordinators for special events. Positions include:

Corporate Partners
The Corporate Partner committee is in charge or recruiting and retaining corporate partners. This includes introducing our CPs at dinner meetings and organizing quarterly corporate partner lunches.

Community Affairs
The Community Affairs committee’s goal is get NAWBO noticed in the community as an organization that “propels women entrepreneurs into economic, social and political spheres of power.” Committee members promote NAWBO by attending various functions and charity events in Broward County.

Communications Committee
The communications committee oversees all NAWBO communications to members, prospective members and the community. The communications committee is responsible for the printed newsletter, website, email newsletter, and membership directory.

Public Relations Committee
The Public Relations Chair is responsible for providing communication assistance to the NAWBO board members (and sub committees) for to the chapter. The Public Relations Chair should work to establish goals and understand their responsibilities related to increasing Chapter effectiveness and awareness. The Public Relations Chair assists other board members in communicating to the chapter and the community.
