Each year, the Fort Lauderdale/Broward County NAWBO Chapter,
in conjunction with the Broward Community Foundation and Broward
College, awards scholarships to female students pursuing a degree
in higher education. The scholarships are awarded for academic
excellence, financial need, and community involvement.
This program always proves to be one of our most inspirational
meetings of the year, as our recipients share their moving and
encouraging stories. You will want to join us for this special
evening.
The Debra Levy Neimark Scholarship was created to honor a member's
legacy and her commitment to NAWBO. Debra Levy Neimark was an
appellate attorney, a civic-minded volunteer, and an active member
of NAWBO. When she passed away tragically at the young age of
33, her husband Cort, together with her fellow members of the
Fort Lauderdale NAWBO chapter, established a charitable trust
in her memory. The Scholarship began helping young women pursue
college degrees and vocational training in 1989. This fund is
supported by our chapter's monthly raffle drawings.
